Stella McCartney’s debut collection following her departure from Chloé fell well short of expectations.
McCartney’s raucous procession featured risqué statements, often in Cockney rhyming language, emblazoned on nearly all of her outfits.
A somewhat pornographic garment said “Slippery When Wet,” cropped T-shirts said “Raspberry Ripple,” and a long cloak encouraged people to “Spank the Monkey.”
Aside from these artless want tobe shockers, McCartney presented uninspiring electric blue sequined pieces, mini-slips with trailing sleeves, and skirts with dotted-face motifs by artist Gary Hume.
