Angela Missoni is the creative director and president of Missoni, a knitwear company founded by her family and famed for its kaleidoscopic motifs and multicolored zigzag patterns.
In June 2018, the brand sold a minority ownership to private equity firm FS Mid-Market Growth Equity Fund, while Missoni remains the company’s president.
Missoni started her career as a nursery owner and did not enter the fashion sector until her children were in school.
She started her own label at this time, and after a few seasons there, she took over as creative director of Missoni from her mother, releasing her first collection for the company in 1997.
Her designs and attitudes re-energized the label and re-established it in the fashion zeitgeist, ushering in a new era for the brand.
